Creation: Silver strobe leather cuff bracelet cut with Cricut

About the leather cuff bracelet

I love this design and thought it would look really nice with a silvery finished leather. It turned out prettier than I anticipated! I think it would be a lovely finishing touch on those less casual days.

Below are some high-level photos of the process, and also the finished result.

If you’d like to make your own, I’ve written a post with step-by-step instructions on how to create these kinds of Cricut leather bracelets. If you’d rather just buy one, I sometimes sell similarly-styled laser-cut leather bracelets in my Etsy shop. See if there are any you like!

The making process

At a high level, the process involved:

  1. Finding/purchasing a piece of scrap leather at a local leather supply shop. It’s rare to find a piece this pretty, but I got lucky on that particular visit. You never know what you’ll find in the scrap bins with a little persistance!
  2. Uploading this design file into Cricut Design Space.

  1. Cutting the pattern using my Cricut Maker.
  2. Sealing the back of the leather with a finishing product. This helps keep the fibres nice and smooth, and prevents them from shedding.
  3. Adding snap fastener closures.

And that’s it! Here are some images of the process.

The finished result

This leather has just enough firmness to make for a nice bracelet (any floppier and it would be too much like a fabric) and cuts beautifully using the Cricut deep-point blade.

I also love how the back looks, and I could even have gotten away without sealing it since there was very little shedding of the fibres to begin with. But I like the extra touch of professionalism that sealing gives it.

Overall, this might be my prettiest one yet!
