About the leather cuff bracelet
For this leather cuff bracelet, I went with a really neutral colour. I found a sheet of chrome tanned beige leather at a local leather shop that looked like it would cut well with the Cricut, and it did!
I applied a thin coat of shimmery white acrylic paint to the surface as an after-thought; I would usually do this before adding the snaps but in this case I did it after the snaps because it wasn’t planned. I love the frosty finish that the paint added.
Below are some high-level photos of the process, and also the finished result.
If you’d like to make your own, I’ve written a post with step-by-step instructions on how to create these kinds of Cricut leather bracelets. If you’d rather just buy one, I sometimes sell similarly-styled laser-cut leather bracelets in my Etsy shop. See if there are any you like!
The making process
At a high level, the process involved:
- Finding/purchasing a sheet of beige leather at a local leather supply shop.
- Uploading this design file into Cricut Design Space.
- FYI, you can download this free design if you’d like to make it! I also have other free bracelet patterns available on this site (just filter for bracelet files).
- Cutting the pattern using my Cricut Maker.
- Adding snap fastener closures.
- Adding a coat of shimmery white acrylic paint to the surface of the bracelet to add just a tiny bit of bling.
And that’s it! Here are some images of the process.
The finished result
This was a really quick project. The leather cut beautifully using my Cricut Maker, and since the leather was already finished, I didn’t have to dye/condition/seal anything. The fleshy side was also not very fibrous, so I didn’t even need to seal the back.
The coat of paint I added at the end was really just so I could test a new painting technique; had I left that out, this entire project would have taken just a few minutes.
