Creation: Black single rose leather cuff bracelet cut with Cricut

About the leather cuff bracelet

This is one of the first designs I created in my early days, and the one I was most excited about. I loved the thorns! I’m not a super flowery person, so I liked the edge that the thorns brought to the design.

I wasn’t sure how well this leather would cut; it’s not the best quality (you can tell from all the fuzziness of the back). But it actually cut very cleanly with the Cricut deep-point blade, and turned out better than expected!

Below are some high-level photos of the finished result.

If you’d like to make your own, I’ve written a post with step-by-step instructions on how to create these kinds of Cricut leather bracelets. If you’d rather just buy one, I sometimes sell similarly-styled laser-cut leather bracelets in my Etsy shop. See if there are any you like!

The making process

At a high level, the process involved:

  1. Finding/purchasing the leather I used at a local leather supply shop. This piece isn’t of the highest quality and was fairly cheap; I wanted to see if it would cut well on the Cricut (and it did!).
  2. Uploading this design file into Cricut Design Space.

  1. Cutting the pattern using my Cricut Maker.
  2. Sealing the back. I didn’t do this step, but I would recommend doing this using a finishing product. This is especially important for leathers with lots of fibres on the back (like this one). Sealing helps keep the fibres nice and smooth, and prevents them from shedding.
  3. Adding snap fastener closures.

And that’s it! Sadly, I didn’t take any photos of the making process. But below are some of the finished bracelet. Enjoy!

The finished result

I made this mainly to test whether the Cricut could cut this type of leather, and was pleasantly surprised that it cut very well.

It turned out better than expected!
