Creation: Solid circles leather cuff bracelet cut with Cricut

About the leather cuff bracelet

This is a basic solid bracelet, so I thought I’d try a really shimmery and unique finished leather to take advantage of the solid pattern. I find that leathers like this get wasted when you use them for very intricate patterns where most of the leather will get cut. Solid designs, on the other hand, are great to showcase really great leather finishes.

I like how this one turned out, but photographing very shimmery leathers is difficult because the patterns get easily washed out, so I don’t think the photos do it justice. Either way, this one is a simple and quick project and is great if you have some cool finished leathers with unique patterns lying around.

Below are some high-level photos of the process, and also the finished result.

If you’d like to make your own, I’ve written a post with step-by-step instructions on how to create these kinds of Cricut leather bracelets. If you’d rather just buy one, I sometimes sell similarly-styled laser-cut leather bracelets in my Etsy shop. See if there are any you like!

The making process

At a high level, the process involved:

  1. Finding/purchasing a piece of leather at a local leather supply shop that has a cool pattern.
  2. Uploading this design file into Cricut Design Space.

  1. Cutting the pattern using my Cricut Maker.
    • This design is simple enough that you could probably cut it with a pair of craft scissors.
  2. Sealing the back of the leather for a smooth, professional finish, and to avoid shedding of the fibres.
  3. Adding snap fastener closures.

And that’s it! Here are some images of the process.

The finished result

Because this design is so simple, you don’t need any fancy equipment to cut it; a pair of sharp scissors or a craft knife will do. The solid design is perfect for leathers with unique, interesting patterns.

I love how it turned out!
