Creation: Silver chain leather cuff bracelet cut with Cricut

About the leather cuff bracelet

This bracelet design is a little bit smaller and more delicate than some of the wider cuffs, so I thought this really cool silvery leather would look nice.

Because it’s a finished leather, the project was pretty quick and didn’t require much work after the initial cut. I love how it looks!

Below are some high-level photos of the process, and also the finished result.

If you’d like to make your own, I’ve written a post with step-by-step instructions on how to create these kinds of Cricut leather bracelets. If you’d rather just buy one, I sometimes sell similarly-styled laser-cut leather bracelets in my Etsy shop. See if there are any you like!

The making process

At a high level, the process involved:

  1. Finding/purchasing a piece of scrap leather at a local leather supply shop. This one caught my eye right away; it’s rare to find pieces like this!
  2. Uploading this design file into Cricut Design Space.

  1. Cutting the pattern using my Cricut Maker.
    • I had to be really gentle when removing the transfer tape from the surface of this leather because the pebble-like design would come off if I wasn’t careful. I knew this from working previously with this leather, but it’s something to watch out for when working with finished leathers that have patterns on them.
  2. Sealing the back of the leather for a smooth, professional finish, and to avoid shedding of the fibres.
  3. Adding snap fastener closures.

And that’s it! Here are some images of the process.

The finished result

I love that this bracelet is a bit thinner and more subtle than a lot of my other designs, and I think it would go well with a dressier outfit. It’s simple, but choosing a leather like this one really brings the design to life!
